Picnic Day.

On Monday I went on a picnic with my mom, one of her best friends, and her friend's new son that she adopted from Ethiopia. Isn't he just the most adorable kid in the world? He's so full of energy and love, and has the cutest little voice in the world. He pushed me on the swings, chased squirrels like a madman, and blew bubbles like a pro- he blew a bubble then bounced it on his elbow more than twenty times! Isn't that insane?

Welcome Back, Sunshine.

"But may they who love you be like the sun when it rises in its strength."
Judges 5:31

The weather was so beautiful today. Nothing could bring me down, not even studying for this exam. I took my books to the park, and sprawled out in the grass. I love the sun, I love this time of year.

Now I'm inside the library because the mosquitoes started attacking, but I just can't stop thinking about all the things I'm looking forward to this Spring:

Hammocks.

Camping.

Flowers.

Trails.

Swimming.

Swings.

Kites.

Clotheslines.

Picnics.

& so much more.

Spring Fever.

First of all, why do we (by we I mean girls in general) love taking pictures of ourselves so much? I mean, I'm not narrcisitic at all, but I love getting all done up and taking pictures. Liz and I talked about this the other day, and I've come to the conclusion that it's just a female thing. We love feeling pretty. And when we do, we want the world to know. I've always had this secret dream to be a model, but that's definitely not in my future. So I'll do the next best thing, which includes a tripod, a cute outfit, and a field of weedsflowers.

Today I decided I wanted a picture of my amazing find of a shirt. It was $1, and I love love love it! So I went in the backyard to take pictures, but everything looked so dead and ugly. I then looked over the fence to the second part of our backyard. It's split in half by a fence because it's on a hill, and without the fence the neighbors would be able to look right into our house. So what did I find over the fence? An amazing field of weeds! And, they were oh so pretty. I really don't understand how you can call something so pretty a weed?? Same with dandelions. They are my favorite flower.

I hope you don't mind an excessive amount of Ashley self portraits, because I love show and tell.
