Holga + Summer = ♥

I finally developed my second roll of Holga film. I'm still trying to learn how to use this thing. I didn't "damage" the film like last time, and these came out much more clear, so I'm stoked. I can't wait to load my third roll, I think I'll even break out the tripod this time.

I also finally found an excuse to use Katrina's adorable tape strips. I love them!

Received Damaged.

I got my film back. First thing the man behind the counter tells me is that it was "received damaged". And of course the envelope had a huge red stamp on the front. Well, what he didn't know was that his idea of "damaged" is my idea of amazing. Okay, maybe not amazing. But I'm happy. This is the first roll of film I've ever used. I took two years of high school photography, but by that time the school was already using digital cameras. So I never learned the basics. I had no idea how to even put the stinkin' film in.

Now, I know these aren't perfect. But for my first roll, I'm pretty impressed with myself. My favorite is the one with my mom. Well that one and the one with the rooster & Jordan, that rooster really didn't want me to take a picture of him. Really really didn't want me to.

Hello, Holga.

Thanks to the lovely Diana, and this website I studied all weekend, I was finally able to try out my Holga. It was a Christmas gift from Jordan, and yes it was on my "list". So, being the perfect husband, he bought exactly what I said I wanted. But of course, I don't know anything about cameras and I told him to get 35mm film. Duh, it takes 120 film. Didn't I feel like an idiot? It's okay now though, because we found an amazing camera store in Sacramento that not only sells 120 film, but also develops it. I spent Saturday walking through the Fair Oaks Village, running after roosters that really didn't want their picture taken. Jordan and I probably looked like crazies running circles around the roosters, shouting "Stand still you idiots, just lemme take your picture!!!"

What I Wore?
Dress- Vintage (Crimson & Clover)
Leggings- Target
Flats- Soda

Jordan is taking the film in today. I can't wait to share with you the results. That is, unless they don't turn out.
