Much Love Monday: Running Edition.

Hello, my name is Ashley and I'm addicted to running half marathons.

All I can think about today is how much I love running, and how I never thought those words would come out of my mouth. And what better way to bring this up than a Much Love Monday post, inspired by Anna.

Running.

Saturday's run was a blast, and even though I was in a lot of pain I loved every second of it. Not only was the weather beautiful, the trail was gorgeous and I got to spend the day with one of my best friends, Katie. I started the race with her, but my hip was being a jerk so I had to slow down. But it all worked out because I got to finish the race with Katie's mom (who is amazing).

I can't wait to do a 10K on my birthday, and then another half marathon in November. Let's just hope my hip will cooperate next time.

P.S. I'm definitely going to start doing MLM posts, such a cute idea.

  1. This is great! Currently, I hate to run, but I really really want to love to run. I've always wanted to want to run, but 1) It scares me 2) I'm quitting smoking.

    How did you get started?

  2. Um, you are amazing! I wish I could say I can run a marathon. I personally used to run all the time back in high school and college (for fun/exercise) and then when I got married and had a daughter I gained a ton of weight and stopped working out. I am now back on track and am losing all that baby weight and (this Saturday..also my 26th birthday) I am going to be running in my first 5k. It's only the beginning, I hope to get where you are. I love running too. :)

  3. That's such a great thing to like!
Would you have any tips for me doing a 5K for Cancer Research in two weeks?
I need to start practicing, but I have pretty weird heart problems so would like some tips on how to stay quite calm and eating/drinking tips before/after? What works for you?

  4. Grace- I know you can do it! I love our twitter conversations. I'm going to run 100 miles now ;)

Erin- I definitely should have started with a 5K, but I like to jump in over my head! I'm sure you will have a blast on Saturday. Happy Birthday!

Samantha- I didn't know anything about running/marathons before Saturday. I learned a lot though. Make sure you eat a lot of carbs. I had these things called Sport Jelly Beans, that really helped give me energy. And make sure you wear good socks! I wish I had known that because I have some bad blisters :(

You will have a blast, just don't think of it as a competition and have fun! Can't wait to hear how it goes!
