Face Time.

Thanks to my Shonna, I met my new hero/favoritepersonever the other day. Katie Face is an amazingly talented artist and is probably the most hilarious (and sweet) person I've ever met (I figured this out after the first email I received from her, which left my with tears in my eyes from laughing so hard). What's even more exciting is that Face is going to start blogging again, and I can't wait until she gets her site up and running because I'm sure you will love her as much as I do. But in the meantime you can check out her online store here.

Here are a few of my favorite "Face" pieces:

And she might kill me for posting these, but isn't she beautiful:

Silly Bandz & A Silly Girl.

Remember when I wrote about growing up, but always staying young at heart? Well, my friend Shonna is the epitome of being an adult without growing up. For example, do you know another professional engineer that is more interested in talking about whether or not you have "Beiber Fever" than her successful job/life? No, I didn't think so. Not even to mention her obsession with Marcel The Talking Shell, or the fact that she went to her business meeting in a suit and Silly Bandz. She's by far the most spirited and authentic 'girl' I've ever met.

Oh & by the way, have you met Marcel? She's hilarious.

Here is the adorable Ms. Shonna and her Silly Bandz, which she carries around in a leather case (not joking). She is one of my favorite people in the entire world, and I really wanted to kidnap her when she came to visit this weekend. But she had to go back to her grown-up job, and not so grown-up toys.

TTYL Shonnagaga, I'll miss you.

What I Know For Sure.

1. They are beautiful:

2. Diamond looks adorable in the bow I made her:

3. Shereen is an amazing artist:

4. Joshua likes to drink beer:

5. Jordan doesn't exactly follow directions:

Now, let me explain that last one. I sent him to the store to buy a patch for our air mattress because we had company this weekend. He came back with a machete. I'll give him some credit because he did buy the patch. But really, who buys a machete late at night from Wal-Mart? Apparently my husband.

Instead of a guest book, Jordan and I had our wedding guests sign a framed picture of us. It's hanging in our little dining room, and is always so fun to read. Some of the things people wrote are sweet, some are silly, and some are impossible to decifer. Here are a few of my favorites:

All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

May you always have music in your lives.

May God bless you, keep you, & make His face to shine upon you all the days of your life.

You two are like totally my favorite couple ever.

Remember to keep laughing.

The wedding was so metal. Rock hard.

May please & plenty be the first to lift the latch on your door. May your troubles all be small ones, and your fortune ten times ten. May there be a silver lining back of every cloud you see. May God bless and keep you always, and you see his love in your marriage every day.

Yeah!

May you always be as happy as you are today. PS Glad to have you as a 49er fan! (We don't care about football)

May your life be filled with friendship and love and a few good parties in between.

Cute, huh?

I'm NOT On The Internet.

Don't let this post fool you, I'm not sitting in front of my computer totally cheating on my whole "break from the internet" thing. Okay, I can't lie. Maybe I am, but don't judge me. I wanted to share three things real quick before I got back to my hiatus.

1.

Not being on the internet all day is absolutely amazing. And not having my phone ding constantly, reminding me to check my email, is pure bliss. I don't plan on turning that back on anytime soon. I definitely miss the good old days, pre-havingaridiculousinternetphonedrivingmeinsane. I blame that on Jordan, because he is the one that talked me into getting this high tech phone that is slowly driving me crazy. I want my flip-phone back darn it.

2.

My sister made it safely to Kenya, and already saw two babboons! It's like she is living in the Lion King, I'm very jealous. She has internet and should be better be updating her blog soon, so make sure to head on over and read all about her adventures. Her blog can be found here.

3.

Here are three more pictures from the recent fashion show I was in. These are by Lindsey as well, isn't she good?! She asked me to do another photoshoot soon, which I'm super excited about! The designer, Lindsay (with an a), has an etsy shop that I will make sure to pass that on to you soon. Also, look at how gorgeous Iris is.

The Good, The Bad, and The Hilarious.

The Good:

Today I taught my first full lesson plan to a 3rd grade class. It was a Social Science lesson on symbols and flags. I brought in flags from different countries, and talked about the symbolism of each. Then I had them make up their own country and flag. They had a blast, and were absolutely adorable. One little boy said his country was all about peace and harmony and his flag had a picture of a fox, which represented the wildlife that was preserved on his land. How flipping adorable is that? Then another little boy said his country was all about "rocking out and wildfires". When I left they all fought to give me hugs, and they begged me to come back again. I know, my heart melted. I cannot wait until I'm a teacher.

The Bad The Hilarious:

Iris fell. Yeah, she thinks I forgot about these pictures... but of course I didn't. Last weekend she decided to swing on my rope swing, and it snapped. Now I have to tell you, the thing was hanging by a thread and I warned her that it would break if anyone sat on it. But did she listen? No. And did we laugh at her when she fell hard? Duh.

Another Post About Sunshine.

"Oh, how sweet the light of day,
And how wonderful to live in the sunshine!
Even if you live a long time, don't take a single day for granted.
Take delight in each light-filled hour."
-Ecclesiastes 11:7

Have I told you how excited I am for summer? Yeah, sorry. Sometimes I can bet a bit repetitive. It's probably the ADD. But I bet you didn't know that I am REALLY excited for this summer.

Sunday was pretty amazing, and pretty horrible at the same time. It was a perfect summer day. Except that it isn't summer yet; I had to go back to school/work on Monday and now it's raining. God is teaching me how to be patient, that's for sure. Here are a few pictures from Sunday's adventures with Liz, Iris, and Elise. Did I mention how perfect it was?

Smile.

Testing=Torture.

Sorry I haven't been here in awhile. School is taking over my life at the moment. But that's okay, I only have a few weeks until Summer break. And let me tell you something- I cannot wait! I won't waste a second of it. And of course I will write more often, promise.

One good thing about school is that I have to do projects that require me to work one-on-one with students get to surround myself with kids on a regular basis. I visited the most adorable third grade classroom this morning, and really didn't want to leave. Oh, and this past weekend I had to complete a set of tests on three different children, so we had our family friends over for a bbq. Pretty good cover up, huh?

I felt bad that I had to test them when there were having so much fun, but I need to get over my disdain for testing (or maybe not). That is one part of teaching I just can't make myself enjoy; standardized testing is just torture. There are so many other ways to assess students, I don't need them to memorize facts and fill in bubbles thankyouverymuch. I do, however, understand that these tests are used to ensure that all children are receiving a quality education. But in reality they create an environment of stress, and teachers end up having to teach to the test. And what does that really accomplish? Oh well, I don't have time to keep ranting, I'll do that later I'm sure.

Here are a few pictures from this Sunday.

"You can call me flower if you want to."

Today has me thinking a lot about friendship, and what it means to me. This is something I've never taken lightly, but I always end up in the same predicament. I believe that true friends are hard to find, but that doesn't mean I should stop looking. I want to surround myself with people that love and support me, and I'll be there to do the same for them. So why do I always end up becoming friends with those that are only in the relationship for a profit/gain? Whatever I have to offer, they want ten times more. Regardless of how that leaves me in the end, they just want more. I am sick of the sarcastic remarks, the endless requests, and the ridiculous amount of negativity that comes from your mouth. Please leave, thank you.

Now, if only it were that easy. While I may be blunt and opinionated to a fault, I've never learned how to stand up for myself. So instead of telling the people who hurt me to go away, I'll just write about it here. Sounds like a viable option, doesn't it? Call me a wimp if you must, I'm not denying that I am. Someday I'll learn. Diana said it best when she reminded me that Jesus was not only a loving person, he was also "super assertive".

& I think this is why I love dogs so much, you know that no matter what they won't hurt your feelings. Unless of course they leave you for your husband who has better treats.

Stitch Swap Love.

Well, this is obviously a little late. But Spring Break put me more than a little behind with school work, so I've been working like crazy this week. Better late than never right?

Last weekend was absolutely amazing. Friday night I went to the Rock and Worship Roadshow to see David Crowder Band and Mercy Me. It was perfect. Then Shereen and Josh come to stay with us for the weekend, and that was even more perfect. Come Sunday morning I really didn't want to see them go. Saturday was the Spring Stitch Swap, which was a total success. I got to hangout with some pretty awesome girls, drink lots of Go Girls, eat Pinkberry, and steal a bunch of awesome clothes. I even got a pink Anne Taylor dress (that fits PERFECT) and an adorable faux leather jacket (which I'm wearing in some of the pictures). And as if that wasn't enough to make me smile, we raised $165 for Relay For Life and we have 15 HUGE garbage bags full of clothes to donate to St. Johns Women's Shelter.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from that day. To see the rest you can visit JP's Flickr.
